Placing Funny Frogs

So a client wrote in to ask a question I have heard many times before. "Why does a frog attract money and now that I have one, where do I put him?"

Before I get to the frog himself let me explain one of the basic principles of Feng Shui, that of stimulating the energy. If you have ever had acupuncture (which I have had and recommend) you know that a certain kind of needle is placed on a certain point on your body to stimulate the energy (qi or chi). Well there is energy running through your home too... or not running through your home if you are experiencing an ebb in prosperity. So we place a specific object in a specific place in the home to stimulate the energy. The specific place, in this case, is by the front door because all new energy comes in the front door. And so that leads us to the question of why a frog.

There are actually a lot of money and prosperity symbols you could choose. Some do a better job attracting wealth than others. Things that remind us of prosperity work the best, things that are gold, things that look like a diamond, things shaped like money, etc. However it is sometimes hard to look at the string of coins and visualize it going out in the world to bring us back more coins. But a frog, sitting on a pile of money with a bridle of coins in his mouth gives us a picture. We can see him hopping up to each passerby, stretching out his little froggy hand and pocketing some coins to bring to us.

You can tell by my description that this is a particular frog. Not just any garden frog will work as well as a frog resting on a fortune of coins. Like the right needle brings better results so does a Money Frog.

In addition the right placement is important. But here is the good news, Feng Shui is so effective that if you got your frog in the right place you will see some results in the first few days. You may not hit the lottery but you will receive some increase in income, some small windfall right away. And if you don't then he is not quite in the right place so pick him up and move him. Try a few inches to the right, then to the left until you find that right place, the place that stimulates the energy.

Finally the answer. The right place for your money frog is by your front door, where the money comes in, facing the approaching guests, like he is your little doorman, waiting there with an outstretched hand.
